The Uttar Pradesh Education Service Selection Commission (UPESSC) has released the UPTET 2026 notification (Adv No. 01/UPTET/2026). UPTET is a mandatory Teacher Eligibility Test for candidates wishing to become Primary or Upper Primary Teachers in Uttar Pradesh government schools. The UPTET Certificate is valid for LIFETIME. Exam will be held on 02, 03, and 04 July 2026.
There are two papers: Paper I for Primary Teacher (Class 1–5) and Paper II for Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6–8). Candidates wishing to teach both levels must appear for both papers. UPTET qualification is mandatory for appointment as government school teacher in UP.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION — PAPER WISE
| Paper I — Primary Teacher (Class 1–5) | Bachelor's Degree from NCTE-recognized institution + BTC / B.El.Ed / equivalent teacher training qualification (2-year program). Minimum 50% marks in Graduation or Teacher Training Program. Final-year candidates also eligible. |
